Slags

Valuable raw materials after waste incineration

Even the processed result of waste incineration still contains valuable materials.
In Hohenruppersdorf, a patented international process makes it possible to carefully and efficiently separate the ash products from the waste from metals and glass.

These valuable raw materials can then be used to manufacture new products.
This process not only recycles waste efficiently, but also saves energy and emissions.

Environmental protection through efficiency

  • Up to 80% of the slag can be reused

  • Combined wet and dry process for maximum efficiency

  • Extraction of up to 30% more metals

  • 10,000 tons of CO2 saved per year

New applications through research

Processed slag from waste incineration plants can be used as building materials for roads and paths, as fillers in concrete or for the production of bricks.
It is also used in horticulture as a substrate improver.
They can also be used in the production of cement, glass and ceramics.

Recently, research has shown that these slags can also be used as catalysts in the chemical industry.
However, there are many more ways to use recycled slags from waste incineration plants, so we continue to invest in research to discover new applications to increase the value of this material.
