In cooperation with Brantner, the long-standing waste management partner of Altstoff Recycling Austria AG (ARA), the "Children's Environment Days" held for the first time in Lower Austria at the beginning of May were a resounding success.
On 5 May some 230 children from both the city and district of Krems took part at the location of the waste management company Brantner Walter GmbH in Krems while on 6 May again around 230 children from the districts of Gänserndorf and Mistelbach made their way to the sorting facility of NUA Abfallwirtschaft GmbH, a company of the Brantner Group, in Hohenruppersdorf. The Children's Days were then rounded off at the recycling yard of the waste management company Brantner Dürr GmbH & Co. KG in Zwettl, where environmental protection was brought to life in a fun way for a total of around 220 children.
The ARA4kids team together with the employees of the Brantner Group looked after the youngest participants in a professional manner at the respective locations as they explored the world of waste prevention, sorted collection and utilisation and litter prevention.
The children from the kindergartens and primary schools in the area had a wonderful time as they experienced a total of five activity stations with (among others) mascot "Tobi Trennguru". The kids were rewarded for their efforts with a medal each and small gifts. Throwing waste into a basketball basket, making your own paper, tossing rings, guessing games, a sorting belt and much more besides ensured that the children were able to become more familiar with environmental protection while having fun at the same time.
